The music of John Coltrane

Coltrane was born September 23, 1926, in North Carolina. Among his many honors are a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a special Pulitzer Prize. He remains one of jazz music's most influential figures. He's even been venerated by te St. John Coltrane African Orthodox Church of San Francisco. He died of liver cancer, at just 40 years old, on July 17, 1967.
