Steve Harwell led the Alternative rock band Smash Mouth to a Grammy nomination in 2000 for "All-Star" as Song of the Year. Harwell founded the band in 1994 in San Jose, California. Selling more than 10 million records worldwide, the band forged a unique blend of pop, rock, and punk. Smash Mouth surged to popularity again in 2001, with a cover of the Monkees hit "I'm A Believer" -- Frontman Steve Harwell died over the weekend at his home in Boise, Idaho. He was 56.
