Remembering Roberta Flack (1937-2025)

Roberta Flack is the only solo artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year on two consecutive years: for "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (1973) and "Killing Me Softly with His Song" (1974). 51 years ago on February 24th, "Killing Me Softly ..." was the #1 song in the U.S. In 2022, Flack was diagnosed with ALS, and retired from performing. Roberta died today at the age of 88. We're featuring her music on these channels.
