March 31 is the anniversary of the births of both German Baroque composer and musician Johann Sebastian Bach (1685) and Austrian Classical composer Franz Joseph Haydn (1732).
Bach has been generally regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time, known for instrumental compositions and vocal music, totaling hundreds of works. Haydn was instrumental in the development of chamber music such as the piano trio, and he's become known as the "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet".
