The show, of course, starred Don Johnson as James "Sonny" Crockett and Philip Michael Thomas as Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, who played Metro-Dade Police detectives working undercover in Miami. The show has been so influential that the style of 'Miami Vice' has often been borrowed or alluded to by much of contemporary pop culture in order to indicate or emphasize the 1980s decade.
