This was a year to be daring. In 1979, the snowboard was invented and bungee jumping was born! "Bungee" was first performed by a group from the Oxford University Dangerous Sports club. They jumped from the Clifton Suspension Bridge joining England and Wales. All the cool kids had a new Sony Walkman, which set you back $200.
