National 8-track Tape Day

It was only a predominant format for about 20 years (CDs have been around for nearly twice as long). In 1964, Bill Lear of Lear Jet Corporation, along with Ampex, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Motorola, and RCA, created the eight-track tape. Also known as Stereo 8, the first player was released in 1965. April 11th is National Eight-Track Tape Day, so let's celebrate with music that was among the first to grace that cartridge.
